  • "The County Council has changed its policy on road signs for community and charity events.  Anyone wanting to put up such signs can obtain further info from Parish Clerk or contact Louise Collier direct at Cambs County Council, Stirling Way, Witchford."
  • "The County Council is in consultations regarding 2007/8 budget.  Eg. 5% rise in property Band D = 85p per week for County Council portion of Council tax. Visit www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk for information and proposals.  Your opportunity to tell the County Council what you think!"
  • GO EAST (Government Office for the Eat of England).  Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) for the East of England - Proposed changes to East of England Plaln - visit the website http://www.goeast.gov.uk/goeast/planning/regional_planning/?a=42496  to view the Secretary of State's proposed changes and Statement of Reasons which includes a significant increase in homes for the region from 478,000 to 508,000 for period 2001 to 2021.  Non-technical Summary of the Sustainability Appraisal of the Proposed Changes, a report of an assessment under the European Commission's Habitats Directive to determine the effect of the RSS on sites of European importance for nature conservation.  12 week consultation period ending 9 March 2007.  Please forward any comments to the Parish Clerk by end February.
  • Cambridgeshire County Council adopted The Statement of Community Involvement for the Cambridgeshire Minerals and Waste Development Framework and Development Control Function on 17 October.  Sets out how the community will be engaged in the preparation of the Minerals and Waste Development Framework and how they will be consulted on planning applications that are determined by the County Council.  Visit www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk or the local library.

Minerals & Waste Site Specific Proposals (Preferred Options) DPD (identifies locations for minerals and waste eg inert waste landfill at Mepal Airfield, inert waste recycling and sand & gravel extraction at Langwood Fen, Mepal, household waste/bulking up transfer facilitiy at Witchford Road, Witchford).
 
Minerals & Waste - Earith/Mepal Area Action Plan (Preferred Options) DPD (mineral extraction and restoration/flood alleviation for Ouse Washes, habitat creation, recreation and winter water storage) are also available on the County Council's website as above.
